NIGHT CONCERT

NIGHT CONCERT

A Poem by Theresa Anne

As the rain falls through the umbrella of pine trees

The night concert will commence without warning

Fore the moon has bowed out for the evening

Leaving stars as the audience in the sky

Branches sway back and forth in the wind

As if rocking the night into sleep

Far off in the distance, music of the crickets begin

While leaves swirl about in their dance

The hazy night skies crack open with jagged bolts of light

Answered by claps of rumbling soon to follow

Fog hovers above the ground

Like a mist growing straight up from the earth

It hangs in the air as if placed there

Only to disappear then reappear on command

After it's passing, silence takes the night

And the darkness becomes that of a blind man
