I See Stars DyingA Poem by AveryBeyond the fallen and the starlit sky Oh, the sky! Vast expanses of, multitudes of, dreams enveloping every vision Shooting across, visible only for a second's eye On the horizon sits, resting, a little home of humble natures When smells evoke blissful sighs Longing, anticipation, only lifts you higher Sit and watch the colours like you Sway, buzz, in the swift winds Don't hesitate, join in, in reckless dance Someone awaits your return
Now it's all smudged out, that little spot Washed away by the storms, peeled by the sun's heat If it dissipated with the morning mist, where will you hide? Stand out in the cold, waiting, waiting Looking up with a strain of the neck Only to find it ashen all above Not an earthshine of comfort The same smells now wrack you full with pain Longing kills And you've, never Seen a shooting star before We outgrew our little homes saying I'll make my own Yet now we wander With nowhere to go Only wishing Once more, wishing On a dying star
