Just One Night

Just One Night

A Poem by Avery
"

Just one night. I'll let you taste my flesh. And learn my scent.

"

Just one night

I'll let you taste my flesh

And learn my scent

Alluring as you thought it was

I'll leave you trying to remember

What you were craving the night before

When there is nothing left but a wisp

Of when we were one, in a bed for two.

I feel all the better

That you won't have a chance

To creep and peer into my heart

A name saved from the list

A list I've stopped writing

But is already such a length

I'd never have to fall to love you

What never starts will never end

And I have no worry of disappointing

Because when you see a rose, its petals luscious

Velvet to the touch

Sweet to the smell, glistening with dew.

Ah, how it is something to love

But if you looked too close, you'd see spots of black, brown and yellow

And from deep inside comes a heavy must, growing sickly sweet with rot

And that flower, would much rather know sunshine from behind a window

Than to brave the violent weather.

Hot , sensual , seductive...A splendid poem...:)...............

Quite seductive, finding pleasure in the method by which your suitors fall apart attempting to impress you and failing to give up in hopes they'll find "that one way." Well done... You've captured the perspective of the seductress quite precisely, from the malicious pleasure to the deterioration of the suitor.

'Luscious' good word choice! You definitely get the point across and it tastes good too. "When there is nothing left but a wisp/Of when we were one, in a bed for two." I love that line especially it stood out and I'm sure it will carry with me. Very well done, though I would like the details on this love that you would not like to take into your heart~
