I am that star.

I am that star.

A Story by The Realist

I am a star that looks upon all at night,
I am a star that is always by itself,
You'll probably know me as the one that doesn't shine as much,
or the one that strays from the 'popular' constellations.
i am a star that gets picked on from the others because i am the smallest, even the man in the moon laughs at me.
But instead of spiting back at them i laugh back....... you wanna know why?
because i am a star that is alone for a reason,
i stray from the constellation because when one burns they all burn,
i am that star that is the smallest but is the most constant star there is,
i am a star that will always be looking out for you from above,
every night,
i am the star that is sometimes out during the day,
the one you tell your secrets too, the one to cherish them
or the star that cries with you, for i am the star that is alone for a reason...
to be a constant reminder that you will always have a friend and that  you are not alone..
Yes, I am that star.

"i am that star that is the smallest but is the most constant star there is" is my favorite line... It reminds me how fast I got exhausted when I tried to please everyone... and now, I am looking for the ones who would like to have me shine over them with my dim light... I hope you don't mind me taking this personally:)

Anyways this is a beautiful piece that I can relate to:)

I have seen a star that is constantly there regardless of what happens! It is called the north star and it is the only star sailors and travelers have always depended upon for direction. It is not the biggest and the shiniest but it is there for all those who need it. Your poem reminded me of the north star and I must say, it is quite a good poem you have written. You made me rethink about all our places in life and what we are there for. I absolutely loved it!

I like this a lot, speaks to me from a very social perspective in my own life. Where I am sometimes that lone star and sometimes caught up in the constellations. Keeping my eye out and trying not to burn out.

"...even the man in the moon laughs at me.
But instead of spiting back at them i laugh back....... you wanna know why?
because i am a star that is alone for a reason..."

I too also have friends that choose to be this way, and I look to them for guidance from time to time, especially in the darkest nights. I do see the stars that are there, many are feared because they are misunderstood.

Would love to see some nice pictures with this, some art or something you find that speaks with this... I like art and writing together a lot.

What this says to me: I am a lone star, that can be looked down upon; but I am always here for you... I don't think it would be a problem to add more :)

indeed we do, thank you Olla :)
I find this to be quite comforting. It is soft and thoughtful. Some lines I especially like:
"even the man in the moon laughs at me." - what does he know!:)
"i stray from the constellation because when one burns they all burn, "
I also get the feeling that this star, your star, is not one to need to be with the crowd...not a follower, or a joiner, but an individual secure in its own place, meaning, and mission. It has a sweetness to it.

Nice, somehow sweet and interesting make-up. As for the form I'd suggest it's something like a prose poem. You categorized it as a story though the pattern reads more poem-like.

Ok, I see.
Great poem, I especially like the line about the star out during the day. The line just feels to me that the ultimate defiance to general rules and regulations.
