RED
Red red lips Makes me wanna turn’em pink Don’t speak, don’t talk let me smudge those red lips let me turn them pink Red red lips. BLUE She was blue, so blue blue like the sky blue like the lines in a notebook blue like the ocean blue like sapphires blue like hidden sadness She was blue, so blue. YELLOW Yellow sunshine yellow Yellow hair yellow yellow like sunflower yellow Yellow, happy yellow Such a baby yellow She looks so good in yellow Yellow, happy yellow. GREEN Green eyes like trees green plants on her hands socks are green on her feet green leafs on hair What a nice grin she had Green eyes like trees. PURPLE Purple sky and eyelids Purple like lilies as my mother used to say purple aroma then, I said purple nail polish broken on her nails Purple like the grape she ate. ORANGE Orange shorts hugging her legs Orange like oranges Orange like autumn Orange like the books she used to read Orange fruit, sweet but bitter. BLACK Black like her heart black sadness When she saw black or when she stood in black or when she wasn’t even drawn in black. © 2022 E. Solórzano |
