It/WhoA Poem by ShannonYes this piece has a target. They know who they are.
And so here i sit
Alone...Awake... As moment by moment I can hear my heart break Silently i begin to shake And beneath my thin shift My soul quivers and is laced Behind drooping eyes Refusing to be replaced For lo, and behold, the decision i face To speak, or to say silent, in observance of the eternally mute Who cover themselves with facades and lies who just want to bite the barrel and shoot And you know the exact moment one of them dies When that cold wind blows in And chills you to the bone Freezing your veins Making you feel so alone Can you imagine they're pains? For what can they say? And truly... What can they do? Their problems do not leave For these problems are not "its" but rather "who's" © 2012 Shannon |
