Face in the mirror

Face in the mirror

A Poem by Shannon

Did life mean so little
that for each tit and tat
You flung forth a riddle
And watched as they spat
And from lonesome eyes
You watch with a smirk
And they weave their lies
Through the mud and murk

Now tell me true
And mask it not
What she says to you
When you're with your lot

Now put forth no deception
And show me no fight
Look forth to your reflection
And make it right

Shrink away slowly
And slink away quick
At the monster that only
You can lick

The face in the mirror
the beast in the glass
Run not in terror
But wave at the lass

Shake hands with your demon
then chop off her head
For if you don't man
Your better off dead!

This poem had a shrill chill, and was put together nicely. It's been a while since I've read your writing and I never fail to be impressed.
I appreciated this piece and its art. Good job. 100/100

I really liked and enjoyed your last stanza. I love all the emotion in this. I found it interesting and intriguing really.

Love this one too. Very interesting twist of emotion and person in this. Initially The reader is lead to believe this is an observation but as you read on one has to question who is being observed? Is the advice for those outside or for the one in the mirror? The final two stanzas seem to imply this piece is a self examination. The beginning however give the reader the distinct feeling of being observed and even condemned. Great write.

Interesting mix of vibes in this piece. A bit confusing until the last verse, when some venom comes out! Last line should be 'you're' instead of 'your.' I like the mix of violence and 'live to fight another day' comingled with just chopping the b***h's head off.

I wish you'd tell me what's wrong.
I like the ending to this, though, it really stands out. And they rhyme flowed nicely. Good job. *Thumbs up and hugs you*
