Behind the unknown obstacle

Behind the unknown obstacle

A Poem by Shannon

You say i hide
Beneath a veil
But is your assumption
Truly real?

For perhaps i dance
Beneath a cloak
The only movement you could see
Was the vibrations as i spoke

Maybe i waltz
Beneath a mask
with a devious wink
As i go about my task

Or maybe i whirl
In the shadows of day
Eluding your sight
As i dance and sway

Look beneath the cracked glass
Turn the pages thus far displayed
Withered parchment likes to hide
Truths otherwise delayed

Be it facade or wall
I look out from behind
None may know all
That goes through my mind
