War songA Poem by Shannon
Echoes and Echoes
Of fallen nobility Fluttering feathers Fallen possibility The noble eagle Slain on the ground The loyal gryphon No longer around A fabulous glimmer Of unicorn horn In a puddle of blood Above eyes, forlorn And dying shrieks Of a scaly King The Dragons last breath The last flutter of his wing Soft moaning From the harpies chest When at one time Their singing was best And mermaids dry On the forgotten shore glimmering hair and fins Cursed to float no more The defying scream Of a smoldering phoenix Risen from the ashes of war Only to see these dead relics Long forgotten By the mind of man And the phoenix sings The war song of the Land His fiery feathers murmur Of lost creativity Of the dubiously "scientific" minds And their "probability" So you have no evidence So you say they could not exist But seeing is believing And this is of what many a mind consist Princesses saved, knights in armor Flying dragon kings Noble gryphons, glaring eyes Listen as your mind sings A war song of reality Of forgotten love And modern punctuality No time to play No time to sing The song of childhood The song of the heart the tempo runs in your blood sing with me the silent song of creativity The mythical war song Come sing with me.... © 2010 ShannonReviews
