Obvious conclusion

Obvious conclusion

A Poem by Shannon

An obvious conclusion
In desperate response
To a oblivious intrusion
That claimed her heart...once

Once but no more
Will he storm the gates
Of the castles four
Seiged at unbelievable rates

Knights of black armor
Beneath skies of gray
Nightmares of horror
Marached that day

A fiery envelope
Of blood and screams
Engulfing the thunderous lope
Of war mounts and streams

Metal on metal
The shriek of the dead
Echoes of the cripple
Blaring in my head

Save us! Avenge us!
And disturbing chuckles
As my blade delivers eternal blackness
from within my bloodied knuckles

Singing steel glowing
With crimson red
Fountains of ruby wine'
Flowing from the dead

And what have i done?
As i study my reflection
Who have i become?
Amongst this purge of infection

In my quest to protect a woman
And win her trust...

Ms. Shapiro would love this. You should e-mail it to her. I'll message you her e-mail address.
I love the rhyme, your rhyme is never forced and I like that. This one seems more balladic (is that a word?) and epic than your others, but I still like it.

Powerful write. When I started reading I had one vision which you changed with a flash. Joan of Arc meets the terminator? Great write great imagery, that black inner anger bleeds through.
