Adoptious Denature

Adoptious Denature

A Poem by Shannon

You say your going off
to fight in the war
were most people don't know
quite what they're fighting for

some have been forced
and some enjoy it
To take the beautiful
And just destroy it

Who are we?
To beckon to death
To bring him round
By ending a breathe

And who are we?
To pull the trigger
Making deaths job
A little bigger

He's got all the help he needs
Suicides, homicides
"natural" deaths indeed
Brought about by pesticides

And still we fight
This new ideal
This new "right"
Of high appeal

Oh yes, appeal
Can't you see?
What you want isn't real
Or is it just me?

Why am i the only one
Who thinks its about time
To stop the run
The endless rhyme

A babble of the unconscious
Slurred words and features
Their nature is adoptious
From incoherent creatures

And you still just don't realize
The fire that grows as i speak
Reaching towards its prize
Set upon humanities peak

"Human nature"?
Is that what you think?
wall i say DENATURE!
As i watch individuality shrink

Now pull out the stops
And end this NOW
There you've got then "when?"
Now all we need is the "How?"

Deep and passionate write. I like the way you started this as a simple rhyme and increased the poem's complexity as the emotion grew.
