Flip-Flops in the snowA Poem by Shannon
Its never to cold
So break out the flip-flops and lets run through the snow Just like these lines, nights get longer As sparkling snowflakes flutter to the ground How brilliantly they must shine when no ones around Simply because life's greatest treasures are mostly unseen could that be why we close our eyes to kiss cry and dream? But this also raises a question, is only the beautiful left unseen? The nightmares, and heartbreak, that we suffer through shuttered lids the gloomy, depressive tear stained mutterings of "I should have been his" But my dear, open up your eyes, surely this grief is a blessing in disguise? See, Watch closely now my child, watch the world continue to spin. Watch as slowly the night recedes, and sun shines from within Yes, from within my friend, from within your heart, look, Your life has become a authors pride and joy, a book Watch, as he weaves your life in and out, he sways Adding in all your emotions, forming all your days Emotions of your love, emotions of your rage But oh my dear, when times get tough Please don't close the book! Just turn the page! © 2010 ShannonAuthor's Note
