Hushed TonesA Poem by Shannon
I sing to myself
in a quiet hushed tone Taking my dreams off the shelf letting my imagination roam I mutter sweet nothings To you in hushed tones Though you can't hear The aching in my bones I wish on the stars Desperately in hushed tones to right the wrongs of man To bring our soldiers home I cry to myself in silent hushed tones letting the remorse wash over as tears run down my cheekbones I cry out valiantly! No longer in hushed tones! 'End this madness!' 'Destroy the clones!' Shattering glass tinkles to the floor In ringing hushed tones As the molds all break Ending the stereotypical thrones. . . © 2010 ShannonReviews
