the problem with knowing

this is a complete bout of randomness. Have fun

The problem with knowledge and knowing
To me, is simply
Knowing to much to learn more effectively

With our brains crammed tight
With ideas and words
with knowing left from right
and identifying the birds

maybe for once we should just sit back
go through a day without wondering
about how to keep on track

To wake up and think
"What a fine day"
instead of trying to invent
a weather changing ray

To sit still and listen
as the earth turns 'round
instead of trying to imitate
each wondrous sound

To stop only planning for
the future of now
to stop asking daily
endless questions of "how?"

such a shame that man
is so set on his goals
that he can't see the present around him
being swept away into the coals

The coals of a fire
that had burned much to fast
through the shell of an empire
who regrets their past....
