Silent protest

Silent protest

A Poem by Pooja Patel
"

A short piece on toxic south asian femininity.

"
Why were our mothers taught
to hold their tongues
and bite their lips
but let emotions spew
in loud pots and pans
smashed dishes
thunderring footsteps
burnt rotis
over-spiced daal.
