keeper of my heart

creature inside of me, pulling on my heartstrings
twisting you into my fondest memories
making me forget the lies
and the bad times
replacing the tears with laughter

this thing inside of me
raises my hopes
every time I forget who you truly are
it crushes me beneath my fears when they turn into reality

these broken fragments of myself
scattered in a misshapen form

all because the keeper of my heart deemed you worthy

Keeper yet a creature. This ambiguity really leaves us in the dark about whether the keeper is here to aid or harm us and his control is a unknown blessing. Only problem is punctuation but didn't affect the poem overall. good work
