Months flutter by on calendar
and September drifts its way in
picking dirt and wishful puffs
of dandelions with its gusts;
as noon drags lazily over
coffee addict aims,
autumn kisses my view
with pale and brown aesthetics
poured over by jaggery sunset,
as if Persephone's festive invitation
to her lover, the lord of death,
if not a partial solemn tribute
for the life she created
parting ways for new ones to bloom.
I too shed skin in autumn's courtesy,
there's screaming pain to be freed
so I stand amidst its haze
motionless from nowhere else to be,
only exhausted of sensations
I grew until their roots choked me,
and hence, through this season
I make space for the joys
I've left in me and those to come
that I believe in.
Dear P. V... Pleases may be the first to welcome you back to writerscafe? You have been SO missed and your beautiful poetry has left a vacant place due to its absence which nobody could fill. Thrilled beyond words that you are back again and what an amazing poem you have inked on your comeback!
I love how you express so poetically how time flies by so quickly and suddenly it's September and Autumn. Autumn is the season of letting go in nature. How easily the leaves fall from the trees, they simply let go without even the slightest resistance. It is also time for us to usher things and people out of our lives in an Autumn cleanse. In doing this, we make space for the things and the people that we want in our lives, for the joys, the blessings, the happiness, good health, good luck we deserve.
You have captured the beautiful, colourful season of Autumn superbly, dear P. V... Your kind and earnest words have an Angel quality in them and bring peace to your reader as he/she reads.
"as noon drags lazily over
coffee addict aims" I love these lines and they have just reminded me to have my afternoon Cappuccino!
The visual detail is exquisite! Autumn is magically captured and composed+ through your excellent word choice. I love the flow of this perfectly worded poem too and how it is laid out. Your words touch the landscape of my soul and they will continue to bloom there long after I have read them!
Thank you for sharing your beautiful poetry dear, P. V...
and finally "Welcome Back" again, dear poetess (((HUGS)))

But autumn has a special significance, everything is golden in its light though it's the season of parting yet it has its own beauty which I was focussing on one windy afternoon.
This review made me so happy, wishing you a lot of love my sweet friend!

Dear R.V....I love the comparison of autumn's presence, the slow death of its stunning flora's...yet a new season about to awaken....time flies here and before we know it there is change....so as the flora changes so do humans...their moods, their wants, their desires...the hope that comes with these...you present it so well and so poetically....
Warmly, B

I'm so glad to learn you found it meaningful, grateful for this review. Sending you warmth you way!
This was so beautifully descriptive, you could see the day slowly passing and the coming of the autumn season all at the same time, or at least that was kind of the visual I had in my mind.
We so often think of spring as the time of rebirth and renewal, which it is but none of that could happen if it wasn’t for autumn which is in its way, a similar thing. There are all sorts of plants that first bloom in that season and not in spring and even the already existing life takes on new forms with the coming of fall. And this write had such a hopeful note to it as well, I quite enjoyed it.

I'm an ardent lover hidden within the deep confines of my maturity, a lover of poetry and expressing deep meanings in the most mundane observations.
