She feared touching him, despite his warmth seeping into her that her frosted skin stole every morsel of,
she was hesitant of what could his fervency be made of, what lies under it, and if it was colder than her own skin.
Even though she was beckoned with each of his features casting light on her, giving her forgotten self a name to be, she was ready to escape anytime before it abandoned her,
yet she wished to give in, the fears never grew more than her longings, she yearned to look beneath that skin while finding spots on that warm expanse where no one ever reached, none of those he presented his luring smiles to.
And what more can her fears morph into if not the love she awaited? Her butterflies could be liars but, she was willing to give them a chance to listen every time they erupted.
A flawless blend of fear and desire in a potential romantic relationship. It delves into the complexities of emotional intimacy, her hesitation and curiosity towards her significant other's feelings, while the yearning for connection despite fears reflect the universal struggle of making the first move to that person despite the uncertainties. She doubts her butterflies, the red flush on her cheeks yet she is ready to give herself a chance. Bravo!
Love your writing style, Muskaan.
Be happy always, dear friend :)

Intimacy can be complex, especially in this beautifully written piece….. there is fear portrayed and longing to touch…..much anticipated desire…to reach that perfect warmth and beyond….and” what lies under it”
Although ready to escape…..she lingered and gave her butterflies a chance…..
A very metaphoric, descriptive piece, soft and enduring….
Warmly, B🌷

I do like the butterflies. I plant flowers that bring them to my yard. I liked how you used the butterflies. We hope our butterflies in our life. Are true and kind. Thank you dear poet for sharing the amazing story.

You narrate so poetically the fears, doubts and worries about a new relationship which has become part of your life, dear poetess. There is some apprehension and nervousness about what the relationship may hold in its hidden folds, as yet unknown, as the relationship is new. There seems to be an escape route planned should the relationship turn 'belly-up' as they say, but there is also a willingness to wait and see what develops before making a decision and also a desire to enjoy the newness of the relationship and listen to the beautiful sensual butterflies who invade your tummy and dance with pure joy at your happiness. Wow! A breathtakingly beautiful write which tells the reader of the pros and cons of a new relationship, which I pray will go on to develop and grow with each passing moment to become the treasure of a lifetime. Absolutely LOVE this wonderful penning, dear P. V. and a heartfelt thank you for sharing with me. So enjoyed reading...

Most welcome always, dear P. V. Wishing you a very lovely evening to enjoy, dear friend...
Her yearning desire to fully commit, tempered by shyness, perhaps even a little self insecurity, though those ' butterflies ' she feels every time they are close, l believe only a matter of time before love is wholesomely embraced...

A beautiful story on the apprehensions and anxieties that often accompany a passionate relationship, especially at the beginning of a romance when there's much unsurity and excitement but not yet enough assurance that this love is like no other. The touch of a loved one is inviting yet there's resistance felt to it as one wants to be sure that there's something special and that one isn't just another of those flirtation.
In the end, one decides to take the leap of faith and very rightly so. We can never be sure of the outcome but it's better to have loved and lost rather than not loved at all.
You've written so beautifully on the subject, dear Muskaan. A thunderous ovation for the line, "Her butterflies could be liars!"
Kudos!
