Dump on me your silence,
for I've witnessed your words deceive you,
I won't ask statements of things not making sense,
and live this moment by your side as new.
Contrary to your pages, you seem stern,
hushed, despite the nerves poking your temples,
quiet, despite the qualms you earn
from instances of your fallen principles.
I may not be a muse of love poetry
to be someone to venture with, in fantasies you keep,
and sure not a devout lover who'd set you free,
but I could be someone to read you at your deep.
I think the final line of your poem sums up the piece well. Everyone needs someone that can tolerate who we are and all of our idiosyncrasies. The one person that can stick through thick and thin and read us at our deepest moments and understand is one we should keep close by.
I like the opening lines, too, surrounding silence and words. Words so easily deceive and a quiet silence is sometimes most desirable.
An interesting poem suggestive of a reversal of roles; the things we want said to us and not what we say to others.

Sometime we need silence and sometime silence can be deadly. I like the honest thoughts and the truth in the ending. Sometimes, we have enough already and we cannot see them. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.

Many make or even want love to be complicated, complex as they are themselves, but why? Gotta take the sunglasses off, let love like light flow freely, and then those opportunities that special one could can offer will provide release, acceptance and above all, much needed fulfillment, yep, I read your depth of understanding here poet friend!

I feel this poem wants a very special person to know that they are not alone, that there is somebody there to stand, not behind them, but with them by their side regardless. It is so true that everybody needs somebody who won't ever take advantage of them, who will be understanding, kind, sympathetic, empathic and open minded. The sound of silence can be deafening if one person of a couple is unhappy, sad, withdrawn into themselves and sometimes it signifies a need for a little bit of space for one person to think things through and usually bounce back again. I love the final verse where the amazing poetess tells her lover that she will never set him free, she loves him too much and she wants to be able to help him regardless of how deep the problem is. Nobody could ask for more from a loving partner! Words are toys in your hands, dear P.V. and you use them very sublimely. Wonderful poem which flows effortlessly. I so enjoyed reading and thank you for sharing it, dear P.V...

I'm always glad to read your sweet reviews that look deeply into my poems, my heart swells double every time, I value this sweetness a lot my dearest friend!

Such an incredible write this is. Silence is more welcome and perhaps more truthful than the words that might seem harsh and deceptive. Despite the internal conflicts, the person here is really brave to maintain their quiet demeanor. Beautiful exploration of offering support and understanding in the silence.
Wonderful write, Muskaan!
Hope you're having a beautiful day 😊

A very interesting poem and in a voice which seemed to me a bit petulant and yet quite inviting at the same time. "Dump on me your silence ", strong words indeed. The poet seems to be resigned and has accepted silence as their lot in the event of deceptive words. The poet does not promise to be the ideal lover but commits to being a sincere one. This resonates with me, personally. I feel sincerity and faithfulness are above all other traits in such a relationship. Loved the bit of sulk in the poetic tone here. Once again, I loved it as it's so often me. Overall a fabulous poem with very good rhyming. Keep it up!
