I Love You Darling; Of Course I'm Lying

I Love You Darling; Of Course I'm Lying

A Poem by Catastrophe

Oh my god
I fell again
and this time I got hurt
I should have seen it coming
but that's not the worst

Stop picking sides
this is where it ends
you're playing tug of war with our hearts
yet I'm already bent

I say I love you
and I don't know the meaning of those words
I just say them because that's what you want to hear
"Of course I love you darling"
I never did, I'm only lying
and you'll never know

Oh my god
this heart of mine is breaking
not because you've hurt me
but because I'm doing this to myself

I hate to see you cry
yet I love it when you're sad
I'm playing God tonight
I chose between your life and your death

I say I love you
and I don't know the meaning of those words
I just say them because that's what you want to hear
"Of course I love you darling"
I never did, I'm only lying
and you'll never know

"Of course I love you"
"Of course I love you"
I never used to
and I never will

I'm lying to your heart
but you will never know

Interesting piece, I like the twist and the eluding feeling here. The contrast between the truth and lie kept me reading. You did a great job portraying this feeling deep inside, I enjoyed reading this. Keep it up!
