Tearjerker

Tearjerker

A Poem by Catastrophe

Long ago there was a maiden who ached to be with a star

One and all saw her irrational on something she could not have

Venom of love filled her heart and from that moment she knew

Everything she could have dreamed of was the star she died to know

How seconds became hours and hours became days

Under way the maiden found herself in conversation with the star

Rewording herself each time she thought of their talk

Together they were meant to be; she thought, she thought

He had to know just how she felt; at times he’d sound lonely

His heart did weep for a love to keep and she saw herself fit

As days did pass the maiden grew fond and told the star her thoughts

How quickly it started how sudden it ended and this is when they both parted

Now her heart aches and breaks slowly each day

Only the one who broke it will know how she feels in her heart everyday

Riddles fill her mind of what she might have said that ended what came good

If only time could change the story line maybe, just maybe things would

Zany she was, that was a fact, her heart she tore alone

And if only she had listened to the advice of the unnoticed

Maybe today she’d be alive
