Suffer in Silence

Suffer in Silence

A Poem by James Connelly
"

Summer 2015

"
I see you now, and silently suffer
In my mind as I think of all the things
That never will be, If you be with him.

But still I long to be with you. Even though I will kill little pieces of myself every minute I spend in your midst.

I use every spare moment I have
Pondering over how perfect you are
And how perfectly I could love you.

I feel the rage build when I see him,
Knowing he will not show you the respect, attention, or love you deserve.

If only I could change your thoughts,
Make you love me with the same
Loyal intensity that I feel for you.

But then you would not be the same person
As the one who found me on that day
When I needed something to live for.

You saved my life in a way that only
God will ever know, but now, you
Are the only thing that makes me sad.

I see you again, and silently suffer
In my mind as I think of all the things
That never will be ,If you be with him.
