At first

At first

A Poem by James Connelly
"

Fall 2014

"
At first it was nothing,
not even a trace.
Just another girl;
Another pretty face.

I was like the rest,
Lost and dumb.
But since I met you,
I've smartened up some.

It took some time,
But now I see,
You're the one
With whom I want to be.

When you walk in the room
You make everything bright.
Whenever I'm with you,
I know I am right.

If you chose someone else,
My love would remain
But until my death,
I would be in pain.

So choose me instead,
I won't let you down.
I won't let you fall,
And I won't let you frown.

We'll be together
Through the calm and the fight
Just give me a chance
And I'll be your light.

I can relate to this poem. I've viewed a girl in the exact same way before; she went from being "just another pretty face" to "the one with whom I want to be." James, I can relate to being a "hopeless romantic." Blessings to you.
