You

You

A Poem by James Connelly
"

Summer 2014

"
An hourly thought;
A silent tear;
A constant wish
that you were here.

The sight of your face
The glow of your hair;
To no one else
could you ever compare.

Like the sun, you shine bright.
The moon glows in your light
But with you
they could never compete.

Though my words are null,
My thoughts are deep;
Memories of you
I will always keep.

Your true feelings for me
I wish you would show.
If you'd just let me in,
I'd never let go.

When the time comes,
I'll speak my mind.
But until that day,
I'll be praying you'll find

That you'll come to love me
The way I love you,
So that far in the future,
We'll say: "I do".

James Connelly
This was one of the first poems I ever wrote, so go easy on it. ^_^ A few lines were taken from ideas of other poems that I loved.

This is good considering that it's "one of the first poems you ever wrote." Once again, I can relate to this poem. I know the feeling of liking (or loving) someone else and not having the courage to say anything.
