GoldfinchA Poem by theopenbookshe is free or is she not?Goldfinch She sits on top
of the tree Seeing the world
as her playground For her the sky
is limitless and free It never ending;
it’s infinite. Sky is her
planet; her manger Her home is
where it’s safe From the prying
eyes of danger It’s where she
can breathe. We are those
tiny beings Which she sees
on her flights Who try to
capture her with strange things Who try to limit
her sky. She weeps for
the bound She weeps for
the captured She weeps in
quiet lonely sound She weeps for
her unfortunate sisters. She then flies
again towards the never ending blue Hoping to fly
forever She wishes she
had dreams to make them true All she has is
freedom, faith and the sky. © 2011 theopenbookAuthor's Note
