Going Away

Going Away

A Poem by theopenbook
"

sometimes it's better to leave.

"

Going Away

I sing to the night

Stars my listeners

The moon my spotlight

And I wait for the applause.

But I turn away to face

The vast, silvery garden laid before

My mind travels in sync with my gaze

I wonder if I’ll come back.

Lovely dark inky sky

Gentle breeze caressing my cheek

A question- why am I doing this? Why?

But I know I’ll go anyways.

So I pick up my bags and try to leave

Tears slip effortlessly

I bundle my thoughts; impossible to believe

And unlock the door to my forbidden freedom.

Just walking away, sometimes, helps more than million actions you do and the words you say trying to fix or keep something dear to you.
It is a lovely write. I really enjoyed reading it.
