Never After

Never After

You said that I'm delusional
Incapable of change
Four years for you, a lifetime felt
Was only spent in vain

Of all the things you said to me
The one that hurt the most
You said you didn't hate me
But "pretty f*****g close"

I know I can't take back
The things I've said and done
You've never ceased to remind me
That I'm the broken one

For that I'll take the blame, my love
I never claimed perfection
My demons always dragging me
In your opposite direction

The writing on the walls
Bleeding down around us
A promise to myself was made
The day you slammed the door shut

You said I didn't love you
But how can that be true?
Four years for me, forever after
Was meant to be with you.

About
I knew I loved writing when I was 8 years old. I continued writing off and on as I grew up, and then life got messy. I lost my voice, so I'm trying to find myself again. more..
