"
Every bridge you've tried to cross
Has burned up at your feet
The flames ignited by each promise
You said that you would keep
My skin seared by the hatred and spite, like acid rain
It only ever ends for you when I'm left to lie in pain
As I watch the embers float away and try my best to heal,
The ashes of your love remain upon this battlefield.

Seems so many are so scared of being alone that they settle for nearness already knowing the one they have was not the one they wanted nor likely ever will. And then there are the ones unnoticed, unseen, unheard...

The "little" things matter - and some actually notice that they were done even though a person didn't have to do them.

However seemingly justified, blame only restricts. Write it off as a lesson, and move on.

About
I knew I loved writing when I was 8 years old. I continued writing off and on as I grew up, and then life got messy. I lost my voice, so I'm trying to find myself again. more..
