Brainchild

Brainchild

A Poem by Theodore Curtis
"

Where is he now?

"
Brainchild walking roadmaps in the sand
Anabolic halo with a lambda of 477 nanometers
It's blue light, man, and it doesn't get better
Someday we're all just going to jump over the gods
Brown bear in a cage with a copper statue of the buddha
Eventually the bear got out and the buddha turned green
Passersby in the park saw a man running with a torch
And a white three-ring binder, saying
"Statue of Liberty gotta keep running!"
While Jesus is actually riding a bicycle in Austin
With no handlebars, smoking a sherlock
Making a look with his eyes that's like
"Your move, m***********s"
Or no, it might have been "shiver me timbers"
Brainchild walking down a four-egg breakfast
Wingtips drifting off into the ultraviolet
Blow dust off blackberries and walk a circle
Round the cypress and its hollow by the river
Rusty half dollar left by a bodhisattva
The roots of this world are deep
Even when you've got a peacock in your front yard
Which came first? The hammer or the nail?
Lilt back down to simpler ruddy tones
Unpublished memoirs left in a phone booth
Brainchild tasting the numbers on his tongue
Eyes pointed straight at the beginning of time
3, 6, 9, LIFTOFF.
