The Lightshow

The Lightshow

A Poem by Theodore Curtis
"

Weird s**t happening in real life.

"
It's a high-velocity collision on the information superhighway
It's scrambled-egg pixel parallax
It's cloud computers raining in your head
It is the information age.
The world's information is coming alive
The designs of the mystery schools are manifesting
And soon there will be no more secret knowledge
The names of the dead are in the search engine results
The ancient methods are awakening
Every word is a magic word and every number is infinite
Every poem I write is a prophecy
That things will continue
to never be as they seem
We have learned of wave-particle dualities
And the importance of having eyes and ears
The hallowed texts are available on amazon
And it won't be long, now, before the structure is unveiled
We'd like to think so. It's the new age.
And every age is the new age when the time is NOW
And every poem I write is a prophecy
That our words are carrying us to weirder times
Thy kingdom come
When up is down, when man is woman
"Are you up for some destruction of the gender binary?
Because I am certainly down"
Et cetera, ad infinitum
They will remember this as the time
Shortly before we brought the magic back
I mean the real magic
I mean weird s**t happening in real life
The illusions of the old world reveal themselves
as ripe for infinite subversion
The patterns of the new world reveal themselves
as ready to be accessed by this popular psychosis
I swear I started finding stuff on the ground
When I chose the "spiritual" path
A whole box of cigarettes on the sidewalk
The holy text of Hanuman by a dumpster
I swear I started running into sages
When I chose to give up the false world of objectivity
The new age types call it the principle of attraction
I call it weird s**t happening in real life
And I cannot tell a lie
I wouldn't be where I am without the internet
I can just look up "Gnosticism" on wikipedia
I can find online communities of people
who swear they're magic users
It's all bullshit in certain respects
It's not all bullshit in certain respects
But I have a certain respect for those
Who are down for some destruction
Of the bullshit/not-bullshit binary
Because it's neither particle nor wave
It's your eyes
Seeing weird s**t happening in real life.
So if you find yourself with a pair of eyes
Try opening them just to see what happens
Because I promise you:
The lightshow has just begun.
