You miss me like I miss him And she misses him like I don't miss you. Two against one and two for one. I could handle my forehead being labeled. As long as it's his mark. And you still bear my mark. Because numbers on my list never get erased. I hate calling this an ego.
The first line took me a moment. Had to go through it a few times to make sure I was getting what I was supposed to out of it. After that though, the piece is almost like a slap in the face. Comes out of nowhere and makes you sit back for a while before going back to digest it again. The act of people branding one another's number once they've been through a specific situation together -- or any situation, really -- is such a strong visual. Like the other stuff I've read so far, you always have a moment or two when this real, vivid, honest truth comes out. That happened again in this piece at the end. Well done.
