How?

How would you know.....

 

That mesmerising mane,

And winds, carefully sifting through.....

That strategically placed

artistic trail of whiskers,

adorning that strong jaw

that conceals deadly canines....

those golden pits of terror

and spotless metres of golden fur......

supported on, sharply jewelled

pairs of claws.

 

i know my enemy.

i know that beast

Lurking on its toes,

Hunting for a sight or a smell.

Waiting for a meal.

 

i know my strengths.

i think i can compete.

i have some skills.

i think i can win.

But it is not everyday

You fight a beast.

 

How?

How can you be sure.....

 

i have heard the roars.

my screams sound similar.

i have seen their beauty.

my reflection seems similar.

i know what i am not but

living among sheep and foxes.....

 

How?

How could i be sure?

 

i suffered bruises

fighting some foxes.

i built this camouflage,

Behind, i am safe.

And i will end up among

Sheep and foxes anyways.....

Why should i come out.....?

Only two things lie beyond

Glory and Shame.

Even with glory.....

 

How?

How will i ever know?

As I read this, I always feel that the beast is surrounding me, I feel it's breathe down my neck and then I see through it's eyes, my eyes. It's the beauty/frustration of figuring it out, I guess, is the important part. You definitely give something to think about with this.
