Hope, fades first;

 

on the night,

we conceive new dreams.

the night,

of the new moon;

 

it begins.

 

love awakens,

from hibernation,

integrating:

      crescent

            per

                crescent.

 

emotions spring.

 

among neaps of

anxiety, excitement and fear,

some longing, love and desires,

                                     pack into one.

on the night of Mōhalu.

 

moon leaves.

 

reuniting under,

the silver rains of Hua;

lost lovers sail ashore.

spring blooms romance.

      

fulfilled, Hope shines.

 

affirming the old ones,

new promises are made.

moments devoured,

                  oblivious to realised fantasies.

until tide floods eyelids.

 

ships afloat.

 

on Māhealani,

for reason and obligations,

to fish for the future,

all sails must set sail,

 

while patience wanes.

 

pain consumes,

the gibbous of love,

disintegrating:

      crescent

         per

            crescent.

 

it ends.

 

watery eyes awaits the night,

                  to conceive new dreams.

lost, restless souls await,

                  the tide of the new moon.

 

and then, Hope fades.

I've got a confession. at first, I've just scrolled over, collecting ythe words in red :)

found all of the essentials that make up a "normal " (if you can call anything emotional normal. lol)
relationship. hopes, promises, love, and when it ends .. pain. a big deal of life is all about these, and your poem to me speaks of a little more than just "love "

also noticed that the first line... the letters in red spell out "love"

Patience, pain and hope are obvious in love...Although I don't know much about it but I can sense the feelings here...
How something begins with hope, undergoes pain, love and finally ends with a new hope...
This is so true. Like it depicts us..all humans... Their tenderness and emotions, when they start with something, it follows with hope, it's end, obviously with a new hope for the next choice....
Promises when one makes is not always capable to keep. But some keep and they are described as good ones.. Somewhere promises are made to be kept. With these, also there is hope, one always hopes to keep it....

Honestly, I cant write a review as deft and immaculate as Sindu wrote. The poem is amazing. twisting and turning entrapping emotions beautifully. Felt like I am listening to some narration from the movie 10000BC.
