Daylight filtering through the curtains;

And a few beams poking through its holes;

Competing with your sunshine smile.

 

Those moments;

Lying next to you,

Your head on my arm,

The fingers entwined;

Looking into your eyes

Deciphering the meanings and purpose of life;

When the wind came through the window,

Letting in more sunlight,

Making you squint,

Blowing your hair on your cheek,

I tucked your hair behind your ear.

You smiled and your eyes showered benevolence;

Those moments,

Looking into your eyes,

I lived.

It's so hard for some people to understand that poetry is a series of pictures rather than full sentences. You paint with broad strokes and the imagery is both unadorned and deep. This is a nice piece and I have no suggestions on how to make it better (which is a first for me). Excellent work.
