My World

My World

A Poem by Rainy
"

Stephen Hawking got me thinking..

"

My world is a black hole, condemning all the light.

My everything is dull and dark and the sky is out of sight.

The sun can’t reach me, the stars are dead and dim.

Everything is broken, nothing works at all.

The air is cold and wet and scentless,

And the ceiling’s a waterfall.

Paint is chipped and there’s decay,

The windows like to let in the rain.

The door can’t turn away the wind,

The leaves and carpet are the best of friends.

The irises used to bloom, I digress.

But the world is bleeding hate and stress.

Hear a tap dripping from miles away,

A last hope burns out every single day.

Reincarnation, as the breeze brings it back to life.

Soon, it will be suffocating in the darkest night.

In this isolation, I fill the emptiness full of faith.

My world is a black hole, and it’s the only place I’m safe.
