Stalemate

A Poem by Rainy
"

A tale of entrapment. I despise the inspiration for it.

"

You can point the blame at me,

I’ll keep at bay my fears.

You can sob and scream and push me,

I'm the only one who hears.

And inside I know you’re dying,

Cause every shove is a mistake.

God, I know I must deserve it,

And it’s more than I can take.

Someday I’ll leave, just walk away,

And live to die another day.

You can make excuses,

You’ll say “things that you don’t mean”.

But all the lies you moan or whisper,

Just make me wanna scream.

‘Cause actions speak more clearly,

Than your words ever will.

Every second I’m alone with you,

Is just more time to kill.

I can’t seem to figure out how to say goodbye,

I don’t want an act of violence, and I don’t want to cry.

I get wounded faster than I can ever heal, because

I can’t learn not to need you, and you can’t learn to feel.
