when i look at the worldA Poem by The Nameless"i don't see impressive human structures but a mask covering a once beautiful mother nature"when i look at the world i don't see a man with an eye for good business but a man too blind to see anything but his own reflection i don't see the world's most perfect and beautiful woman but a woman who couldn't accept herself the way she was i don't see piles of golden coins but holes of acid and mercury in a wounded earth i don't see impressive human structures but a mask covering a once beautiful mother nature i don't see a city full of vibrant lights and racing cars but starless skies and the monotonous drills of engines i don't see heavenly mansions towering in the clouds but the bruised hands of underpaid builders i don't see clean and germ-free environments but toxic chemicals that pour from my tap i don't see a mythical cure that might save lives but the lives of countless endangered animals taken i don't see a library full of stories and knowledge but the ghost of an abundant forest i don't see a school full of friendship and learning but a place where hearts are broken and souls are shattered i don't see a ship travelling the deep blue sea but oil spills and nurdles killing coral reefs i don't see a rich man's life of luxury but factories filled with the poor i don't see a healthy curiosity and passion to explore but impulsive destruction without questioning the reason of its existence i don't see millions of human lives spared but an overpopulated earth with no respect for animals and lastly i don't see spacecraft exploring the beauty of another planet but i look at what we had done to our earth and know what its future beholds © 2013 The Nameless |
