I Wish

I wish I could see
A smile every day
A world of green and trees
That radiates happiness like sunrays

I wish I could hear
The sound of laughter
That drowns all fear
And remains in you until well after

I wish I could smell
Fresh air and nature
A world with no hell
Without pollution and hatred

I wish I could taste
Kinds words that nurture
That never judges or breaks
You down or hurts

I wish I could walk
With someone holding my hand
Whether I am carried or carrying
I will never feel alone or sad

I wish I could feel
All these feelings every day
I wish someone understood
Why I want to live this way

I wish I could touch
The hearts of others
To be able to love so much
That I well never face another
Enemy

I wish we could all stop to wait
For a leader, for some sort of change
For we should be that leader
And with our small efforts we can change together
