Peer Pressure

Action, narrative poem - probably the first I've ever written.

"Smash him, Becky! Let him die!"
"Stop it, Becky! He's not worth the fight!"

"Get up, John! Forget being polite!"
"Hit the bloody girl or she'll win it alright!"

"Give him another kick! Smash him in the jaw!"
"Overcome nature's stupid law!"

"Slap her, bite her, pull her hair!"
"Bring your side and make it fair!"

"Becky, don't listen to the crowds of people!
They just want to see the action - this is illegal!"

"John! I finally made it here!
Please stop it - I don't want to interfere!"

"Becky! Don't give him another shot!
Or he'll lie there and start to rot!"

"John, be yourself! Ignore the other guys!
Don't make the girls hate you for the like of others' eyes!"

"Becky! Becky! Get him! Get him!"

"John! John! John! Hit her, come on!"

"Becky, don't! This is your last chance!
You'll regret forever this if you go on!"

"John, don't! This isn't your last chance!
You won't ever regret this if you stop!"

"Bee...." "Joh...."
Whispers and silent eyes, cold

"Oh, Becky! I'm so proud!"


"Oh, John! I'm glad you ignored the crowd!"

"I love you Becky! I'm not scared to say it!
I'm sorry that I lied, sorry that I faked it!"

"I love you, John! I'm not scared either!
Cause we are both stronger than the peer pressure!"
