Leave Your Footprints On The Hearts Of Men

To make a true difference and be remembered when you die, leave your footprints on the hearts of men.

A thousand words unsaid
A thousand lines unread
A thousand songs unsung
A thousand people left dead

And yet no one notices
As they live their busy lives
Those who come and go again
Without greeting or saying goodbye

How much of this world don't we miss out
As we try to make the most of our lives
We spend time with family and friends of ours
But when we die we leave nothing, no signs

The only proof that you made a difference
Lies in the hearts of people who have listened
Listened to you and told in return
And so grew love and friendship

So leave your footprints on the hearts of men
Live your life helping all of them
And you will live happy and die happily
And will be remembered for eternity

Awesome poem so full of truth. Yes we need to make our mark, not through being powerful, or wealthy, or greater at something than everyone else. We need to leave our mark through kindness, love and generosity. We need to reach out to those in need, to the lost in the world who have no one. A wonderfully written poem with such meaning.
