Do Not Die For Me

Do Not Die For Me

A Poem by The Nameless
"

A poem telling a person close to me not to commit suicide when I die, so we don't "die together".

"
You have a life and I have mine
You have family and friends and so do I
Though it would be selfless to do
It would be kind of selfish too

Because your life is not just about me
It's about much more than you can ever think
I am one, but the others are many
Dying would cause heartache a-plenty

If it was God's will that I should die
Then I agree that my life is not truly mine

So promise me right now
And take this vow
You shall not die for me
For I am but another human being

I'm a firm believer that once a life is ended it shouldn't be mourned, but celebrated.

Besides love, I've never understood why someone else would want to take their own life in the name of another.

It should teach you to laugh harder, and love longer.
Not live idly, just waiting for your turn.

Well put.

Thanks :)
This was quite an interesting read and very well put together. I like how honest you are in your poems.

Thanks =D I think poetry is a way of saying what you feel, so I guess you gotta be honest
