How can you describe colour to the blind??

How can one describe colour
To those who have never seen it?

How can one describe its beauty
The way it lights up the earth?

How can one describe the dark
Its daring eyes as they stare?

Or the blinding light of a cloudless day
The sun in its glamour, gay?

How can you imagine a world where colour dies?
For even black appears when you close your eyes

I cannot begin to feel the pain
For those who have never seen this miracle
Many of us live in blatant disdain
Taking it for granted, it cannot be durable

So now you ask me in one poem to tell
The thousands of shades of heaven and hell

But please know that no person can possibly describe
Colour in its endless beauty and vibrant vibe
