Maryland vs. Westboro Baptist ChurchA Stage Play by Marni A. K.You can look at articles online. But here is a case of disrespect, prejudice, and fundamentalism.Speaker A: You have no right protesting at my son’s funeral!
Speaker B: It’s called the freedom of speech and religion!
Speaker A: It’s called invasion of privacy.
Speaker B: It ain’t private property!
Speaker A: It’s a PRIVATE funeral!
Speaker B: It ain’t my fault your son was killed in Iraq. It America’s.
Speaker A: How the hell is that?
Speaker B: This war is God’s punishment for America’s tolerance of homosexuality.
Speaker A: You get away from here. Don’t you have any respect?
Speaker B: For whom? All of us here are glad your son died. We’re glad that anyone over there dies.
Speaker A: How can you say that? What if it was your son over there?
Speaker B: He wouldn’t die. God knows all. And he knows that my son does not tolerate such an evil and unnatural thing.
Speaker A: Here you and Kansas fundamentalist ignoramuses are preaching the parts of the bible you want to preach, while ignoring the most famous and basic ideas of God.
Speaker B: What do you mean?
Speaker A: Do unto others, as you shall have them do unto you. Respect thy neighbor. THE TEN COMMANDMENTS!!!!!
Speaker B: Such words are only part of the bigger idea.
Speaker A: But do you really think God is going to send you to heaven what for what you are doing? No. Why don’t you go protest at the capitol? Why are you using homosexuality as a scapegoat? You can expect a call from my lawyer.
Speaker B: You can sue me all you want but I can guarantee you three things: 1) It’ll be a waste of time. I only have $306 in the bank. 2) We’ll appeal. And I’m sure they’ll change their minds quick. 3) Nothing will deter us from spreading our message across America. Maryland is one of fifty states. We have plenty of other places to go. © 2008 Marni A. K.Reviews
