The Shadow

The Shadow

A Poem by Marni A. K.

A woman sits in a chair.
Only her legs are seen.
On the wood floor
There lay a shadow,
Not the woman’s.
The shape is not of someone sitting.
The size is too small.
It is abnormal.
Whose shadow is it?
Whose footprints stand on its non-existent feet?
Where is the leg?
Where are the hands?
Where are the feet?
Where is the person?
