This One Is For The Heroes

A slam poem

This one is for the heroes.

This one is for those who will,

This one is for those who can.

This one is for those who hesitate to hesitate,

who weave words into pictures

and inspire us like long forgotten scriptures.

This one is for the wordsmiths, the authors and the poets,

those who drive us yet don't know it.

This one's for the slam poets.

Brave men and women, to write words like "love"

....and mean it.

To let voices fly like a dove and see it.......move you.

This one is for them.

This one is for those who can't move but must,

This one......is for those who shake the dust, this one.....

is for those who fight fires but didn't cause it....

this one......is for those......who have a pretty decent cape in their closet.
