Lighthouse

Lighthouse

A Poem by Scott Lynn
"

I don't even know.

"

It's closing in again,

this feeling of helplessness.

2:00 a.m. and I can't sleep,

worries for another day seeping into my mind.

No job until september, money running low,

and all I can think about is her.

Every person and every sign pointing towards her affectations,

but me....scared.....nervous.

I haven't been this way since......

well......3 years ago.

I sigh as I wait.

She's out drinking with her friends.....

no new text message has come in hours.....

but still I wait....

a lighthouse waiting for a ship to come into view.

I have been there and done that and have the scars to prove it. Sometimes thats all thats needed a steady anchor
Wellpresented in poetic prose putting your feelings into words

Scott:

Very nice. Good image of the expectant lover (or whoever) waiting steadfast like a light house. Nice ending, drawing the overall poem together.

This is great! I love being able to read your poetry... I know the feeling of waiting. though, right now I am waiting for something else.
Because for me, it seems the later I stay up, the next day, the better I feel.

i really like this. it captures that kind of out of control, helpless feeling really well.
