The Clockwork Heart

The Clockwork Heart

A Poem by Scott Lynn
"

One of my absolute favorites, and needed to understand the poem "Deus Ex Machina". I am currently working on a longer version of this poem.

"

Like Clockwork, everything unravels.

A heart beats,

All hearts beat,

Unaware of you.

We are all important,

As we are all singularly unimportant,

An ever shifting duality.

Souls torn into seperate identities,

Warring for supremacy in the mind

Of a Singularity.

A universe, primed and unwinding,

Like Clockwork,

Concealed in the beat of a heart.

I like the rhythm and imagery in your poem.

I like this line:
An ever shifting duality.

Strange inconsistencies and yet something harmonious in this poem.

I like it!

I get the feeling of harsh optomism crossed with a glorious unicorn.
Im not sure what emotion that is...
But your words have great sense and rhythm.
perfect 10.

The concept of a clockwork universe has been superseded by new forms of thinking.Clockwork is too simple to explain the apparent inconsistencies of a multiform and complex system in which all things are embedded bit interconnected sometimes in ways which seem impossible.Once you get down to submicrosmic levels.
