MidnightA Poem by TheLovestruckPoetI wrote this about a time I went outside in the middle of the night and I took a few minutes to notice this kind of beauty that can only be seen, let alone felt,by someone who steps out of bed at 12 am
The sun has faded into the night,
Like an angel's wings, the stars' glow shines bright, The air was crisp, so pure and clean. As I take a breath and feel embraced by the beauty. I hear the beautiful sound of silence, As I take in the serenity. It comforts me, it takes me into its arms as it fills me with bliss, The leaves rustle in the soft wind, so gentle, so soft, it becomes one with the quietness. Dearest Midnight, I long for the moment at which I can take refuge in your sweet, warm, darkness. I hope for you to wrap me in the blanket of your mysterious essence. I have a need for you to wipe my tears and turn it into pouring rain, to purify me, and wash the blood off the open wounds of my shame, and relieve me of my pain. Surround me with your sweet melodies, of the crickets singing in hope for all tranquility, as the frogs chirp amongst themselves, as the moon illuminates, fulfilling its obligation as a crusader for beauty. Midnight, fill my ears with your anthem, and take me under the shelter of the night sky, let me hide in the fortress of your dark silhouette. hiding my vulnerabilities. As you mend the pierces of light, that make my heart bleed, Rain for me again, and quench the fire that so consumes me. And until the break of dawn, I pray we never part, For you, my dearest midnight, are so close, but so far. © 2018 TheLovestruckPoet |
