When a girl tells you she loves youA Poem by TheLovestruckPoet
Y'all two are sittin' on a bench
Alone somewhere in some park Y'all's hands finally touch and y'all done forgot About this past in hiding that now seems so damn far. Her thumb presses on yours With y'all's hands intertwined Oh God, how cold did your coffee feel Compared to this warmth of her Skin illuminated by the moonlight. It took no words to explain The communication expressed in y'all's fingers, How that thumb of hers stroked your knuckle, How this fragile silence just stayed with y'all to just.. linger. She exhales. You close your eyes and slightly tighten your grip. You inhale, As her pointer finger traces over your wrist. She looks in your direction And a smile slowly fills her lips. You breathe out softly, As your hair is blown to your forehead by the wind. Her gaze hits you, Yours hits her eyes Buy you ain't fixin' to kiss her Feelin' so young as the night. She blushes some, And you do too. But y'all's feelins subside Until three words escape from her mouth As a soft whisper, "I love you." © 2017 TheLovestruckPoet |
