Entirely Unfathomable

Entirely Unfathomable

A Poem by Andrea Greene
"

it was a moment ok

"
The final note echoes

The room reverberating
A closing sonorous melody
Still lingering, in wisps of recollection
In the auditorium

That is now full of life and roaring applause
And I feel ever so clearly
The brightest lights shining in my eyes
The people next to me standing still
Thinking the same thoughts as I am
At the same pace
We are one, all at once,
Eyes nearly closed against the lights
Fully submerged in this one moment

And I'm tired and warm and still humming with energy
So are they, all of them
I'm not alone
And the thunder of each clap pours into my open chest
Like a brand-new heartbeat
And I'm in love with the triumph
And whatever else this moment is

Surrounded by not quite friends,
Not quite family,
But we're something,
And the world is on our side for once,

And I don't understand what I'm feeling
But whatever it is
It's more than enough.

I feel your poem is not reflective of your authors note at all. Your poem is creative & well-crafted but your authors note makes it sound like you’re having a screaming ditzy moment. So I’ll just forget what you’re saying in your authors note becuz your poem deserves a high level of respect, even from you! *wink! wink!* I spent many years singing & playing guitar for various performances & I love the way you present what seems to be a choral group feeling a sense of accomplishment & connection. I’ve played music with other people a lot in my younger life, so I know this feeling exactly & you’ve really hit it spot-on. There’s a special magic when 2 or more people are doing music together. It’s like no other kind of connection & I love the way you write about that in a somewhat unsure way, tentative & gradual, your intensity builds from start to finish! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
